Genuine reports from the COnsumer Electronics Show of mobile phones with video projectors in them that can project 50 inch images at 8-10 lumens have been overshadowed by the Sumsing Turbo 3000  which includes amongst other things a toastie maker, a bike pump and a dishwasher.

Make Magazine has come to the attention of us geeks recently after a post in The Register or maybe it was Slashdot about a guy who makes his own vacuum tubes from scratch. It turns out that this site tells you how to make all kinds of cools stuff including a web visitors blinker and perhaps more usefully a tracking device which broadcasts GPS positions over the mobile phone network.  This would have been very useful to us during the GLOSS project.
