About

October 12th, 2011

Hi there! I’m Angus. From 2007-2010 I was a PhD student at the University of St Andrews. This page tells you a little bit about the work that I have done.

You can find current contact information for me at angusmacdonald.me, my personal website.

Previous Work

I was a full-time PhD student, researching distributed database systems as part of the DBHarvester project.

I was the school’s alumni officer, which meant that I was responsible for a largely unspecified, and thankfully small, collection of tasks. If you’re a graduate of the school and want to know more you may want to look at the alumni page.

In 2007 I graduated BSc Hons (1st) in Computer Science from the University of St Andrews.

In my final year as an undergraduate I came third in the Scottish Young Software Engineer of the Year Awards (for my final year project).

Before my final year I spent a summer working on the RAFDA middleware system, funded by the Nuffield Foundation.

As a third year undergraduate I won the Data Connection Ltd Prize as a member of the Best Software Engineering Group in our Junior Honours project.

If this isn’t enough you can also find me on various networking sites around the web, with links below.
