Perhaps the greatest thing about being a postgraduate here is the sheer number of events where cakes are deemed necessary. Last year I helped to organise a postgraduate reading group where we’d discuss a paper from someone’s research area over a selection of cakes from the local bakers. Rhubarb tarts are a personal favourite, with fudge donuts coming a close second.
