Promoting Computer Science as an exciting, important, and accessible subject to students in Scottish schools has been a priority for outreach efforts by the School of Computer Science. We have successfully delivered a range of outreach activities, from informative presentations, exhibits and demos to engaging hands-on coding workshops, designed to spark an interest in the subject among secondary students.

However, there is a recurring issue raised by teachers: how can they bring and sustain this level of engagement in the classroom? Despite having a curriculum as a guiding framework for their teaching, they frequently encounter a lack of resources needed to support students in their learning. Consequently, we have decided to set up a project aimed at producing or sourcing effective teaching materials that are closely aligned with the SQA curriculum, in order to aid teachers in their instruction.
