Not So “Smart” Phones

Modern smartphones offer endless features, applications and upgrades, often leading to heightened distractions. “Minimalist phones” deliberately restrict features to just essential utilities like calls and maps. This research analyses user perceptions of such phones focused solely on fundamentals. By limiting apps and notifications through intentional design compromises, the goal is to encourage presence, focus, and conversations uninterrupted by technology.
