CS Grant Writing Away Day

Staff and PGR students from the School enjoyed a grant-writing “away day” on Thursday 12th June. There were useful discussions on structure of UKRI grants, applications and assessment of grants. Lunch, cakes and refreshments were enjoyed by all!

PGT Social Event

The School held an informal social event for PGT students and staff on Monday 9th June in the Jack Cole coffee area to mark the dissertation period. Those attending enjoyed pizzas, snacks and drinks.

On Thursday 22nd May the EDI committee hosted a talk on “Why Do We Need Diversity in Research Software Engineering?” by the Software Sustainability Institute Fellows Deborah Udoh (OLS) https://www.software.ac.uk/fellowship-programme/deborah-udoh and Olexandr Konovalov (St Andrews) https://www.software.ac.uk/fellowship-programme/olexandr-konovalov. PhD Viva Success: Bailey Eccles

Congratulations to Bailey, who has successfully defended his PhD thesis with minor corrections. Bailey was supervised by Dr Blesson Varghese. Thanks to Dr Yehia Elkhatib from the University of Glasgow, who was the external examiner, and Dr Peter Macgregor from our School, who was the internal examiner.
