Senior Honours Project Success

A Multi-display exhibit that enables visitors to explore The Old Course and photographs of Lawrence Levy, and to quiz their golf knowledge was developed by Julian Petford. The display was developed during his Senior Honours Project which was supervised by Miguel Nacenta. Great job Julian. We look forward to hearing more about the event in Senior Honours Project Success

New Member Of The RSE Young Academy Of Scotland

Congratulations to Per Ola Kristensson who has been appointed a Member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh Young Academy of Scotland. You can read more about the appointments announced yesterday in RSE News.

Best Student Paper Award for iSCAN

Congratulations to Per Ola and colleagues Ha Trinh, Annalu Waller, Keith Vertanen and Vicki L. Hanson. Their paper “iSCAN: a phoneme-based predictive communication aid for nonspeaking individuals” received the ACM SIGACCESS Best Student Paper Award at the 14th International ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers and Accessibility (ASSETS 2012) earlier this year.

Challenges in Social Network Visualisation

Aaron Quigley the Chair of Human Computer Interaction in the School and Director of SACHI, the St Andrews Computer Human Interaction research group gave a seminar this morning in Edinburgh at the School of Informatics.
